Meet Moonshot Maverick
Howdy from low orbit, Space City. Moonshot Maverick is part astronaut, part cowboy and all Astros, and he writes the Astros posts on Htownfan. Every game is a mission, every at-bat is a countdown, and every long fly ball gets a proper salute.

Rivalry: the Lone Star Series
The Astros and Texas Rangers play for the Silver Boot, a 30-inch silver cast of a size 15 cowboy boot. The rivalry started as an interleague series in 2001 and became a division fight when Houston moved to the AL West in 2013. The two clubs met in the postseason for the first time in the 2023 ALCS, which Texas won in seven games.
